Position Overview: The Powertrain Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly of large Caterpillar powertrain components.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:
  • Responsible for assembling components in the powertrain category in accordance with OEM specifications, standard hours and quality metrics
  • Must be capable of assembling powertrain components with minimal supervision

**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**

Specific Skills & Knowledge:
  • Must be proficient with standard heavy duty measurement, hand and power tools and safety equipment
  • Good understanding of Powertrain components and their internal parts and how they function
  • Ability to work unsupervised efficiently, and be part of a team environment
  • Strong organizational & communication skills

Education & Experience:
  • Completion of any automotive or Heavy Duty technician apprenticeship training would be considered an asset
  • Minimum of three years related experience

  • This position will be a permanent 10 hours Monday-Thursday night shift, d ay shift may be required until the individual is fully trained
  • Ability to lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds
