Position Overview: The NDT Test Technician will complete consistently accurate non-destructive tests and interpreting the results for utilization in making effective salvage and reusability decisions

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:
  • Performing NDT inspection methods on ferrous and non-ferrous materials in accordance with OEM and CAT NDT specifications
  • Perform (commensurate with experience) or assist with inspection work as required

**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**

Specific Skills & Knowledge:
  • Technical abilities and relevant qualifications (e.g. UT, MT, PT)
  • Adequate knowledge of inspection codes criteria and statutory requirements
  • Ability to work unsupervised efficiently, and be part of a team environment
  • Strong organizational & communication skills
  • Ability to lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds

Education & Experience:
  • Successful completion of Materials Engineering Technology program or a CGSB Certificate in MT, UT, PT is considered an asset

  • This posting is for a static weekend shift scheduled Fri, Sat, Sun - 12 hours per day. The successful candidate will be required to complete training during a Mon - Thurs / Fri weekday shift and will move to weekends once they have sufficient experience.

  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator

Please note that any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
