Methanex is currently seeking a full-time Product Handling Summer Student to join the team in Medicine Hat, AB. This position is available for a four-month term (May-August) during the summer of 2023 and is available to students who will be returning to school once the work term is complete. 

Working under the guidance of the Supervisor, this summer student works as part of a team to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective loading of methanol.

Some responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

• Follow procedures to load railcars and trucks
• Complete all relevant paperwork and data entry as required
• Perform minor maintenance and housekeeping
• Participate in special projects as assigned
• Adhere to all Methanex health, safety, and environmental policies

In order to qualify for this role, you will need to be currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in any field of study, while being physically fit and willing to work a compressed work schedule in varying weather conditions. 

The following competencies are considered strong assets: 

• Must possess solid skills in MS Word and Excel
• Valid Alberta Driver’s License
• Strong computer skills
• Successfully complete a pre-employment screening that includes a background check and medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, due to the safety-sensitive nature of the position
