Position Overview: Product Manager - Product Support

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:
  • Responsible for the development and execution of the Finning (Canada) Product Support Strategic Initiatives (short and long term), as it relates to Product Support Major Classes.
  • Provide leadership to the Sales Managers and Regional Sales Teams on key initiatives such as Standardized Configurations; New Product Introduction; Market Pricing; Inventory; Growth Plan
  • Build Sales Capability within the Product Support Sales Teams by providing coaching, training and development plans to Branch Managers, Sales Managers and Regional Sales Reps
  • Collaborate with Sales Training to create and deliver sales training programs and assessments
  • Collaborate with Caterpillar, Finning Canada Regional Teams to develop and communicate pricing strategies to successfully increase market share and profitability. Using POPS, Connectivity, and OLGA measurement tools
  • Collaborate with Caterpillar and internals groups in the development of new products, new product training, and marketing programs/Campaigns
  • Provide dealership feedback at Caterpillar Advisory groups for the purpose of building knowledge of Caterpillar product direction and Dealer Best Practices
  • Support and work with other Finning divisions to integrate them into a common product support marketing strategy (i.e. equipment sales, Sitech, Marketing, Rental, and Used Equipment etc.)
  • Responsible for gathering, analyzing and communicating intelligence on products, market conditions, competitors, and customers for business decision making
  • Work in collaboration with Supply Chain and the Regional Teams on Forecasting, Sales & Operations Planning, and inventory management to achieve the corporate ROIC target
  • Work with Marketing to provide leadership and direction as it relates to promotion and dealer/customer/association events
  • Provide coaching and development for team members, including performance management and development planning
  • Work in collaboration with other functional groups to streamline process efficiencies
  • Be a safety leader for Finning employees and customers


Education & Experience:
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline with demonstrated business related career progression
  • 10+ years industry and sales/marketing experience in a product support discipline or capacity
  • Previous commercial experience with equipment and product support
  • Passion for using data to drive opportunity and driving business development
  • Strong commercial mindset


Note:
  • Extensive travel is a requirement
