The Project Director has overall responsibility and ownership for leading a Project Management team who deliver multiple manufacturing projects to our internal and external telecommunications clients. They lead the team, from Project Managers, Project Coordinators, who coordinate teams to ensure that work is completed on time and within budget, to a high-quality standard. Responsible for leading, developing, implementing, and overseeing the Manufacturing steel supply team and supporting the growth of the business.

The Project Director will also be working with our internal shared services such as HSE, engineering, drafting, estimating, supply-chain, logistics teams for successful delivery of projects and be accountable with the creation of the plan to deliver a multimillion-dollar manufacturing supply program (telecom and non-telecom steel). Project Director's provide leadership to deliver quality projects, strategically manage risk, monitor finances, and ensure each phase of work is started or completed on time. Other key responsibilities include Quality Management, Business Development (Telecom and Non-telecom), and leading the overall process improvement team in Manufacturing.

Job Duties:

  • Complete Revenue and Margin targets all manufacturing projects.
  • Business growth and sales of our telecom non-telecom and telecom steel manufacturing business line.
  • Monitoring project delivery progress, overseeing finance and ensuring project quality.
  • Making strategic decisions, providing leadership, and direction to project managers to implement those decisions.
  • Meeting with clients, stakeholders, and project managers to report on project progress.
  • Liaising with clients and building strong working relationships.
  • Devising cost-effective plans to enable effective project completion.
  • Managing risks to avoid delays or reputational damage.
  • Managing project managers and enabling them to supervise and manage their own teams.
  • Understand and implement WesTower's Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Coach and mentor project teams, using performance reviews, one on one meetings, and constructive feedback.


  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Technical Diploma or Degree (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5years of experience in a leadership position (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the telecommunications construction industry is an asset.
  • Experienced in steel manufacturing methodologies and requirements.
  • Able to exercise initiative, judgment, problem solving, and decision-making.
