Position Overview: Reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, this position is accountable for leading Capital and Tooling projects in support of OEM's production relating to safety, quality, and efficiency.
Major Job Functions:
Initiate, plan, execute, control and close Capital and Tooling projects to meet objectives. Projects may include relocation, removal or modification of existing production equipment; specing, sourcing, and coordinating the procurement, installation and commissioning of new production equipment
Create schedules to support project implementations
Facilitate project meetings
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers/contractors/engineering firms relating to project investigation/implementation activities
Prepare presentations, executive summaries, project updates and present findings to stakeholders and management
Conduct post-implementation reviews on the effectiveness & sustainability of projects.
Prepare final close-out reports for projects
Review & report on approved budgeted costs versus spent funds relating to projects

Ability to interact with various levels within the organization, conduct interviews with subject matter experts and analyze information to understand project scope, objectives and deliverables
Ability to interpret information and make data driven decisions using technical and business operations knowledge

Education & Experience:
Mechanical Engineering or a technically equivalent degree/diploma with a minimum of 2 years work experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred
Proven writing, research and formatting skills, particularly in a technical industry.
Business and/or Project Management experience is a plu
Experience with CAD software; SolidWorks and AutoCAD LT experience are a plus
Formal training or experience with Lean Manufacturing is a plus
Experience with plant / process layout is a plus
Exposure to manufacturing plant, machine shop and warehouse environments are a plus
Experience with coordination of commercial contractors is a plus
Experience with Heavy Duty machinery, CAT equipment is a plus
