You will be an integral part of a team that works on Wireless Transmission, Network Switching and Platform, and various fibre to home services programs. All of these programs play a key role in delivering TELUS services to its customers. This team is currently managing multi-million dollar projects portfolio with many sub-projects regarding construction of our core network builds. It will soon be moving towards 5G technology!

Here's the impact you will make and what we will accomplish together
    Strategic Project Management:
      •Ability to work with large project teams (20+ participants) under tight deadlines •Comfortable with simultaneously managing multi-million dollar, multi-year, projects with multiple critical paths and parallel workflows which are at different stages of execution •Experience with projects that report to the senior leadership team and exposure to working in Central Office environments •Manage strategic projects that have consideration for time, cost and scope •Collaborate with fellow Project Managers and lead regular meetings with cross functional stakeholders to resolve implementation issues, and develop action plans to improve the end to end build delivery of your projects
    Financial Reporting:
      •Project Profiling: manage the quarterly budget plan with Project Managers and Inside Plant Planning •Manage monthly variance with Project Managers, present Capital and Expense summaries at Capital Management Team meetings •Manage Quarter End Monetary Review (QEMR), Capital Triage and Year End Monetary Review (YEMR) process and provide financial estimates as required •Manage all financial program reporting ad hoc requirements
    Scorecard Metrics Management and Reporting:
      •PMO Program update (monthly): PMO scorecard, cross-functional scorecard •Oversee and follow up on team performance re: AUC, hard stop, stale commitments, stale reservations, on time ready for service delivery, cycle time
    Process Improvement:
      •Prime for process improvement initiatives as assigned •Act as SAP champion

Here's how
    •Familiarity with older Telco voice switching technologies, such as the DMSxxx and GTD5 products, in conjunction with the latest generation IP SIP based access switches like the Zhone MXK and Tier 5 voice switches such as Genband's/Ribbon's C20 product set •Knowledge of voice-based service types such as POTS, Multiline, Hunt Groups, PRI, BRI, DID, Centrex, CPE PBX's, and DSL •Understanding of Central Office building infrastructure and the decommissioning of voice switches and related access devices, routers, frames, bays, ironwork, environmental controls, and other telco type devices •Advanced knowledge and skills with MS office, Tableau including capabilities to produce presentations, charts, graphs, pivot tables and data models including analytical tools (such as formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions) •Advance skills in in simultaneously working with multiple Excel 1,000+ row and 30+ column spreadsheets while manipulating and merging data between them
      •Capability to edit and format the spreadsheets for communication, readability, presentation, status and performance tracking, instruction, and training

    •As a collaborative communicator, you are able to take initiative and liaise with all levels of management and key internal stakeholders, and across functional teams •You can make a presentation to senior leadership and have great facilitation skills •You have demonstrated the ability to analyze data effectively to solve problems and support informed decision making •You have solid knowledge of project management methodologies, principles and practices, along with knowledge of capital and operating budget planning, execution and reporting

Required Professional Designation/Certification
    •Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline

    •SAP knowledge including a strong application in developing and managing project Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and Operational Expenditure (OPEX) budgets •Knowledge of Audio Conferencing, Video Conferencing and TELUS Advance Intelligence Network •PMP designation, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt •Relevant IT certifications, or equivalent designation •Attainment of Silver level of TELUS Project Management certification
