Accountable for the quality control and assurance of all materials and products used or manufactured in the Lindbergh, AB facility. Ensures compliance to company, customer, and regulatory agency quality and food safety requirements. Oversees the implementation of Quality policies, Quality Control personnel, and the Quality Control laboratory for all Food Grade, Agricultural, Water Softening Salt and other grades of sodium chloride products. This individual will promote continuous improvement in facility quality programs while ensuring compliance to quality standards.
Accountabilities
Accountable and responsible for finished product quality sampling, inspection, testing, and disposition
Accountable and responsible for in-process material sampling, inspection, testing, and disposition
Accountable and responsible for ensuring appropriate incoming raw, chemical, and packaging material sampling, inspection, testing, and disposition
Accountable and responsible for conducting facility quality audits and encourage resolution with facility management
Accountable and responsible for customer and consumer notification investigations, root cause analysis, corrective/preventative action, CAPA follow-up and effectiveness checks, and response in conjunction with facility management
Accountable and responsible for the generation and distribution of COAs & COCs
Accountable and responsible for communicating quality associated regulatory and specification requirements to the facility operators and facility management.
Accountable and responsible for no-charge sample distribution
Accountable and responsible for plant level analytical and technical services
Accountable and responsible for management (training, coaching, discipline, recognition, and leadership) of the quality control analytical laboratory personnel
Accountable and responsible for timely product / process deviation investigation and report generation
Accountable for food safety and food security regulatory compliance and all site-related recall activities
Accountable and responsible for customer and K+S Windsor Salt Ltd. Sales technical support and services (customer surveys, general inquiries, questionnaires, etc.)
Accountable and responsible for facility level quality system design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement
Accountable and responsible for facility quality system, HACCP, GMP and regulatory compliance employee training
Accountable and responsible for the coordination of and response to customer, corporate, and regulatory audits of the Lindbergh Operations Facility
Accountable and responsible for quality department general administration (scheduling, personnel, budget management, report generation, performance reviews, equipment/supply orders, etc)

Must have facilitator skills and able to work with multiple facilities to achieve results
Bachelor’s Degree in from an accredited University in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science or a science/engineering-related field.
Minimum five (5) years of experience operating in a production packaging environment.
Minimum three (3) years in Quality management in the agricultural, food or chemical industry
Experience auditing human and/or animal food manufacturing facilities
HACCP Certified
Knowledge of GMPs and Food Safety in the food and agricultural industries
Master’s Degree preferred
Computer proficient
Minimum three (3) years of Supervisory experience
