Position Overview: The Reporting Data Analyst is a member of the Reman Business Analytics (RBA) team whose primary responsibility will be to assist with the creation and maintenance of reports used to support critical functions at OEM Remanufacturing. This position will also work closely with the business units to understand existing and emerging data and analytical needs and will work to provide full-serve and self-serve tools that will allows information to be easily available to help the business units make decisions.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:
  • Provide financial and statistical business analysis to support and drive business initiatives
  • Prepare and distribute various internal and externally circulated reports and analysis on a daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly basis
  • Develop various types of reporting from simple queries and one-time data pulls to complex models and dashboards
  • Assist OEM's Senior and Value Stream General Managers in organizing data for the purposes of profitability meetings, attending those meetings as required, and providing data analysis expertise and support related to takeaways that come from them
  • Play a key role in educating the Business on reporting and analytics solutions, evaluates the proposed solutions with the business partner for acceptance
  • Develop and perform any on-demand, ad-hoc reports and data extracts
  • Under the supervision and guidance of OEM's Information System's team, write SQL query script on behalf of RBA team for the purposes of establishing new data warehouse tables
  • Management of ongoing internal processes as required and assigned (ex: rebate claiming, revenue forecasting, transfer pricing maintenance)

Specific Skills & Knowledge:
  • Possess intellectual curiosity, with a creative mind and strong problem-solving skills
  • Have a strong business acumen including the ability to understand complex financial impacts
  • Comfortable to pick up and learning new software and technologies quickly
  • Comfortable and proficient working with, cleaning, and connecting large data sets; this includes both structured ones within and outside of databases, as well as non-structured ones
  • Detail orientated and dependable
  • Able to work well in a team environment, with other members of the RBA team as well as with members of other departments within OEM and the entire Finning Enterprise
  • Strong communication skills; must have the ability to deliver information and messages effectively across all levels of the business
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to independently manage several projects while understanding the independent and related urgencies of each

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Business, Finance, Math, Programming, or another related field
  • 2-5 years' experience as a data analyst, having worked as part of an exchange business model, or involved in the heavy equipment industry
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with data visualization software; Tableau is strongly preferred
  • Experience in SQL query scripting
  • Comfortable with Access and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and experience with other technological software and skills are considered an asset (ex: Microsoft Teams & SharePoint, Workday, Kronos, Sage 500 ERP, Infor Smart Office Lawson/M3, Power BI, Python, R, SAS )
