Methanex is currently seeking a Safety Advisor to join the team in Medicine Hat on a full-time basis.

In this role, you will provide technical and practical advice and solutions regarding all aspects of the safety program for Methanex Medicine Hat during the planning and execution of the 2020 maintenance outage (turnaround).

In addition, you will be responsible for assessing Methanex Medicine Hat site compliance with federal, provincial, and municipal Occupational Health and Safety legislation, along with industry standards and Methanex Corporation occupational health and safety standards in order to promote the well-being of employees in the workplace, avoid exposure to hazards and risk and to reduce costs related to workplace injuries and/or non-compliance fines and penalties.

Please note, this is a temporary position with an anticipated commencement of approximately March 2019 and an anticipated duration of approximately twenty-two months through December 2020.

In order to qualify for this role, you will have a diploma or certificate from an accredited health and safety program combined with safety professional certification such as NCSO, CRSP, or an equivalent. The successful candidate must also have at least 5 years of health and safety experience, preferably in the oil and gas and/or petrochemical industry.
