Do you enjoy sharing your impactful findings with key players in an organization? This front line role will require you to communicate effectively with technical teams and impacted business partners in sometimes stressful and time constrained situations. With your investigative and problems solving skills, you will address incoming Tier I security incidents.
•Being the Initial point of contact on most incidents being reported
•Effectively monitoring SIEM systems and responding to security events across a wide array of technologies
•Collaborating with various teams, triaging reported incidents and escalating and assigning to Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 as required
•Adhering to operational SIRT processes and procedures leveraging relationships with numerous operations teams, tools and systems
•Using your excellent written and verbal communication skills to record incident findings in a clear and concise manner
•Supporting security investigations, including participation in chain of custody for evidence potentially leading to disciplinary or criminal prosecution
•Being available for on-call after hours support on a rotation basis potentially leading to shifts contributing to a 7x24 online response capability Qualifications:You are the missing piece of the puzzleWith:
•An unquestioned passion for Information Security and enthusiasm and curiosity to learn new things
•Your experience in IT systems, security and network technologies and processes: Great to have
•Windows/Unix system administration skills
•Understanding of many common applications, technologies and protocols that make up the internet
•Logging controls, log analysis and general security analysis tools
•Understanding of IP Network technology, protocols, routing, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and anti-virus
•Functional knowledge of common attack techniques and defenses
•Scripting/programming skills in at least one environment or language
•3 or more years of experience in operations and/or security
•A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar disciplines
•Your ability to obtain Canadian Government Secret Security Clearance
•Technical or professional certifications (such as CCIE, CISSP)
•Bilingual, fluent in verbal and written English & French Who is TELUS?
