The opportunity
KPMG's ESG Services practice provides a full range of advisory and assurance services to corporate and public clients. Core services include sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance [ESG] strategy and risk assessments, climate change strategy development and decarbonization, ESG implementation support, sustainable finance, and reporting and assurance.
Our dynamic team is comprised of experts with experience in general business, accounting, management consulting, sustainability management, public policy, engineering, environmental and climate science, and other related programs. We work cross-functionally across KPMG's advisory , assurance and tax teams, and frequently collaborate nationally and globally.
We are seeking talented and energetic candidates to join our team as a Senior Consultant specializing in ESG reporting assurance and advisory.
**(Please note we are open to hiring this role based on experience not level- so title could change dependent on experience)

KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $56,000 to $99,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. We are seeking talented and energetic candidates to join our team as a Senior Consultant specializing in ESG reporting assurance and advisory.

What you will do
- Perform gap assessments and p rovid e clients with advice on the initial and continuing application of relevant industry reporting Frameworks and Standards including ESRS, ISSB , ASRS, California Climate Rules, GRI and CDP
- Provid e support including preparation and delivery of reports and presentations and workshops to help clients understand and identify their material ESG issues, develop their sustainability strategy, quantify ESG impacts, and improve their public disclosures
- Perform market r esearch and benchmarking of ESG reporting of comparators
- Stay up - to - date on relevant standards and global reporting landscape changes through continuous learning and researc h
- Deliver ESG assurance engagements, following the KPMG Execution Guide for Assurance (KEGA) methodology , on metrics included in our clients' reports, such as GHG emissions, social metrics and financial metrics
- Evaluate current state processes, data quality and reporting models as part of preconditions to assurance services to support clients as they prepare for assurance and regulatory reporting
- Helping grow our business through building and maintaining strong relationships with both clients and KPMG individuals
- Contribut e to our business development activities such as proposal development, marketing, internal and external presentations
- A Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Sustainability or Business.
- A Master's degree (MBA, MSc. or Meng.) or professional designation (CPA) is preferred, but not mandatory for candidates with substantial relevant work experience
- 3-5 years of experience in Accounting, Engineering, Finance, ESG or Sustainability in professional services or industry.
- Experience in GHG emissions accounting and reporting, k nowledge of the GHG Protocol and its associated standards and guidance documents would be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
- Experience in drafting reports and deliverables for senior management and executives.
