We are looking for a strong Senior Developer Analyst to develop and enhance front end facing applications for our Health Benefits Management enterprise solution. Our team is part of a larger TELUS Health team located in multiple locations across Canada and all having varying skills and responsibilities.

TELUS is a corporation that focuses on Customer's First & Employee Engagement. The position allows for a flexible work schedule with the opportunity to work remotely on an ad-hoc basis or at our downtown location close to the C-Train line. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, self-motivated, and work well in a team environment.

Here's how
    •Work with other team members, architects, business analysts, and leaders to implement new business capabilities and troubleshoot issues •Interpret system requirements, define technical tasks and write detailed designs that meet business objectives •Deliver high quality code, following processes like code reviews, automated unit and functional tests , and supporting our testing teams in quality assurance (QA), user acceptance testing (UAT), and customer acceptance testing (CAT) environments •Coordinate technical dependencies with other teams; participate in multiple activities for complex projects in a cross functional multiple platform environment, all while following our deployment change management process •Make recommendations to improve processes, product quality, reliability, performance, maintainability, and scalability


Qualifications:


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •Solid understanding of web-development •Excellent knowledge of Java •Strong understanding of object oriented principles •Working knowledge of various software development methodologies, i.e. Waterfall, Scrum •Ability to successfully complete complex assignments, delegate as required and provide appropriate communications •Self-directed, work independently and adapts quickly to change •Ability to multitask, manage time, and ability to handle urgent interruptions with poise and professionalism •Strong communication skills, both verbal and written •Creative/innovative thinking •Demonstrate a passion for designing and developing well architected, robust automated systems and frameworks ensuring high quality of code •Technical Skills:
      •Java experience •IntelliJ/Eclipse, GIT, Maven, Jenkins •Structured Query Language (SQL) •Web Services (JAX-WS), Java Message Service (JMS), eXtensible Markup Language (XML) •Java based unit testing using Junit or Spock or similar framework •Linux/Unix
    •Bachelor degree in a Computer Science related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience •3-8 years of experience in a technical development role involving the delivery of software

Great-to-haves
    •Bilingualism in English & French •Java Platform - Enterprise Edition (JEE) & Google Web Toolkit (GWT) experience •Procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL) experience •Background in health care or health insurance industries
