Position Overview:With a strong background in IT audit and data analysis, the Senior IT & Analytics Auditor will support Finning International's global Internal Audit operations through the development and execution of data analytics, performance of IT audit activities, and partnership with the business and Internal Audit to improve performance and provide insights into our operations.

In cooperation with the Internal Audit Global IT & Analytics Leadership, the Senior IT & Analytics Auditor will work to improve and expand the analytic and IT audit functions in Internal Audit and will assist with training and coaching to develop others in their IT audit and analytic abilities.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated skill in IT audit & analytics, and a working understanding of relevant best practices.

Job Description:
Major Job Functions:
  • Analytics and Project Support (50%)
    • Execute on specific data analysis projects including planning, development, execution, and reporting
    • Operationalize insights through the development of dashboards, tools, and processes
    • Collaborate with the Internal Audit Leadership team to understand their analytical and reporting needs and translate those needs into technical requirements
    • Provide recommendations to audit teams on appropriate types of analytics and procedures to apply to meet audit objectives
    • Provide analysis of business metrics to assess risk, develop actionable insights, and communicate them in a digestible manner
    • Partner with the global Internal Audit team and Finning business to provide automation and insights to improve performance and risk management
    • Assist other members of the Internal Audit group in developing and expanding their abilities in data analysis
    • Document related processes, procedures, and analysis work
  • IT Audit Activities and Support (40%)
    • In conjunction with the Internal Audit Global IT & Analytics Leadership, further develop and expand the global IT audit strategy and program
    • Working both independently and with internal and external resources; develop, execute, and report on IT audits and assessments
    • Provide insight and assurance over Finning's IT functions and processes
    • Develop and maintain documentation over Finning's IT environment and controls
    • Develop a strong understanding of business and system processes
    • Provide recommendations and guidance on identified security and control risks
  • Reporting (10%)
    • Develop data visualization capabilities to support quarterly board and audit committee reporting
  • Accountability
    • Accountable for delivering and executing data analytics projects, IT audits, and internal audits to support the Internal Audit mandate
    • Accountable for the accurate analysis and visualization of data from various systems and processes
    • Accountable for the accurate and complete review and assessment of IT audit and IT controls projects
    • Accountable for delivering work on time and with the appropriate level of detail and quality


Specific Skills:
  • Solid background and experience in planning, executing, and reporting on IT audits
  • Advanced IT audit and analytic skills
  • Clear understanding of IT audit methodologies
  • Skilled in planning and project execution, and in maintaining composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines
  • Familiarity and comfort with analytic and data visualization tools such as ACL, SQL, and Tableau
  • Ability to accurately and independently develop, test, and implement intermediate to advanced data analytic projects


Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of internal controls and specifically general computer controls
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and processes
  • Knowledge of internal auditing
  • Knowledge of data analytic techniques
  • Knowledge of IT audit methodologies
  • Knowledge of data structures, data extraction, and data management


Education & Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of full-time experience in IT audit and data analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as IT, business intelligence, or statistics, or equivalent experience
  • Related designations in IT audit and data analytics are beneficial (CISA, CRISC, CISM, ACDA, etc.)
