The Opportunity:
Our Major Projects group within WSP's ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector, supports clients from coast to coast. This group provides project management, project controls, construction management and supply chain services to our major projects in the mining, energy, industrial and power markets across the country. The team ensures consistent project delivery for all clients regardless of project location or market.
WSP is currently seeking for a Senior Logistics Coordinator to be part of our team and reporting to Director, Supply Chain Management. This position will be located out of Calgary AB or Montreal QC.
Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain Management this position will be responsible for planning, supporting tendering and coordinating transportation and logistics of equipment and modules on client-based project(s) in North America.

What you can expect to do here:
- You will work with a project team to coordinate logistics of all project equipment and material from suppliers globally to construction site at various locations in Canada and USA.
- You will support Procurement Specialists in developing estimates, Scope of Work, Specifications, tendering of logistics contract and managing route studies.
- You will coordinate proper packing, manifesting, and shipping of equipment and materials to job sites (mobilization and demobilization of field equipment).
- You will manage and organize trailer pools for distribution of material from warehouse to construction sites.
- You will actively participate in tendering and managing logistics contract for FTL/LTL material and heavy haul equipment.
- Arrange and participate in all ground and aerial survey trips including waterborne surveys, as required on the project.
- You will provide the required expertise for managing customs processes and dealing with Customs and Border agencies in USA and Canada.
- Conduct a thorough review of prerequisites to be completed prior to shipping of equipment and modules utilizing applicable procedures and industry best practices.
- You will complete various other duties that may be required to be performed by a transportation and logistics coordinator.
- Manage and coordinate various modes of transportation and logistics (Land, Air and Ocean freight)
What you'll bring to WSP...
- You will have an ability to communicate effectively with internal clients who include construction team, contractors, project managers, transportation & logistics companies, and suppliers.
- Aptitude for learning from new opportunities.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Sharepoint) and Oracle based supply chain systems
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of planning, tendering and managing transportation of equipment and material from suppliers globally.
- 12 - 15 years of experience in coordination logistics on various energy, resources and industrial projects
- Capability of developing logistics related procedures, instructions, plans and templates.
- Expertise in managing transportation related invoicing, claims, holdups and back charges.
