Network & Systems Operations is responsible for the reliable and quality performance of our wireline and wireless networks. From helping introduce the newest technologies into our network, to monitoring and optimizing network traffic performance, and resolving service outages in the field when they happen, the NSO team is continually seeking new ways to assure and maintain our network so that Consumer and Business customers can enjoy a superior experience with TELUS services.
Reporting to the Director - Network Assurance, the Senior Project Manager, will assist in the design, planning and execution of key complex transformational projects within Network & Systems Operations. You demonstrate a high degree of autonomy and can develop strong partnerships with both internal and external business leaders to deliver on your objectives. You will work with your key stakeholders, team, and your Business Consultant prime in leading initiatives to improve processes within Network & Systems Operations and cross-functional processes within TELUS.
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading the delivery of strategic programs within NSO. The initial focus will be the evolution and implementation of the Network Clean Sweep Program (NCS). NCS is a program that aims to decommission legacy network equipment to reduce power costs, increase spares agility and improve team member engagement. This multi-year, cross-functional program will drive significant savings for TELUS. Key program partners include: Network & Systems Operations, Network Logical Engineering, Mission Critical Environments, Real Estate, Process Improvement Centre of Excellence and Finance. This is an individual contributor position; however you will lead by influence and collaborate with other areas at TELUS and interact with Senior Leadership on a regular basis.What YOU Will Do:
•Develop and execute program plans (quality, risk, communication, staffing, etc.) to align the program outcomes with stakeholder expectations and standards
•Monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance of component projects and operations
•Coordinate the sharing of resources among their constituent projects to the overall benefit of the program
•Provide regular program status reporting that includes both cost and benefit
•Schedule and host program meetings including Senior Leader steering committees
•Provide formal linkage in to other network decommission programs and lifecycle initiatives to minimize scope overlap and gaps
•Assist with business cases development and analysis for future program phases
•Provide detailed budget forecasts for program execution by month, quarter, and year
•Advanced knowledge of project management frameworks, tools and concepts
•Knowledge of TELUS' networks, operational processes and associated technologies
•Knowledge of facilitation and process improvement methodologies (e.g. Own.it, Six Sigma) Qualifications:In YOUR Toolkit:
•Ability to facilitate cross-functional conversations with stakeholders with competing priorities
•Ability to influence all levels of management including cross functional teams and senior executives
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation, written & verbal
•Very strong presentation and facilitation abilities
•Excellent planning and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a rapidly changing environment to meet business needs
•Learning agility & adaptability
•Proven execution of large scale complex projects
•Strong understanding of operational and capital budgeting
•Bilingual in English and French is an asset
•7+ years' experience leading projects
•5+ years' experience with process analysis & improvements
