Position Overview: Responsible for the safety, people, quality and quantity as it relates to the customer service commitment.

Job Description:
Major Job Functions :
  • Lead, demonstrate and champion a healthy and safe work environment ensuring that all safety standards, policies, procedures and compliance requirements are communicated, implemented, followed and documented accordingly and maintain appropriate safety training for all employees
  • Responsible for the day-to-day leadership of staff, including recruitment, orientation, coaching, mentoring, employee engagement, and performance feedback including annual performance reviews and supporting growth and development opportunities
  • Spending majority of time in the field with technicians to ensure the agreed upon scope of work is accurately followed, determine proper tooling, parts and technical issues are dealt with promptly and daily time and service reports are completed in order to ensure proper cross ove
  • Manage, determine and allocate technicians to jobs and conduct pre-mid-post job review
  • Demonstrate leadership and engagement that is substantiated by meeting safety TRIF and LTI targets supported by internal and external safety audits and implement the resulting action plan
  • Provide insight and guidance by assigning work priorities to technicians where applicable by overseeing jobs for work quality and productivity

  • Strong understanding of the Caterpillar expanded mining product line including Electric Rope Shovels, Hydraulic Mining Shovels, Draglines and Drills
  • Strong understanding of Caterpillar processes (goodwill, product health structure, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of warranty
  • Understanding of the collective agreement, performance management and disciplinary processes and the principles of high performance leadership
  • Understanding and knowledgeable in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and hazard Assessment
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Outlook and OneNote.

Education & Experience:
  • Journeyperson certification (Welder, Millwright, Heavy Equipment Technician or Electrician)
  • Experience working with Caterpillar Expanded Mining equipment including Electric Rope Shovels, Hydraulic Mining Shovels, Draglines and Drill, will be considered an asset
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership/supervisory role

  • The successful candidate will be required to have flexibility to travel (up to 60%).
  • The successful candidate will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check
  • Working conditions involve working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Access and egress of large mining equipment
  • Access to active workshops and active mining areas
