Job Skills / Requirements

The Site Supervisor is assigned responsibility, accountability and authority to monitor all work activities of their staff members, to identify and report any problems which could have an impact on the company's service delivery. Responsibilities of this role also include: maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, customers, building tenants and contractors, managing patrols of land and buildings within the site boundaries and assist in overseeing the day to day security operation. This is a fulltime position; 40 hour work week requiring flexibility in time allocation.

Essential Job Functions:

· Responsible for overseeing all site buildings and monitoring site policies and procedures are adhered to, while ensuring Guards are following contractual obligations

· Assist the Client Service Manager with security evaluations and risk assessments, while giving appropriate recommendations to the client to maintain site safety.

· Ensure all staff members receive adequate and sufficient information to commence duties on site.

· Monitor, identify and report any health and safety deficiencies on site, and instruct all staff in good work safe practices

· Assist in performing interviews to support Human Resources to ensure sufficient resources are available to meet the company's contractual obligations

· Ensure the Guards Orientation Check List is completed within the allotted time frame

· Provide Guards with continued and adequate training as it relates to the duties and responsibilities of the position

· Ensure new Guards have read and signed the required acknowledgement for the Site Orders, the Security Guard Manual and the OH&S Manual
· Monitor and identify any staff training or disciplinary issues that arise, bringing them to the attention of the Client Service Manager

· Provide constructive feedback and suggestions to the Client Service Manager concerning any relevant staff issues

· Ensure all email inquiries, requests, etc. are attended to in a timely manner

· Support all staff to ensure their needs and concerns are addressed as appropriate

· Assist Management with regular staff evaluations

· Communicate appropriate information, so any outstanding issues can be resolved

· Ensure that all services provided by site staff are delivered as per clients request

· Monitor daily and nightly incident reports, records and logs are completed and filed as required

· Ensure all daily, weekly and monthly reports, records and logs are completed and filed as required

· Ensure that all services provided comply with Paladin Code of Ethics and Policy and Procedure Manual

· Foster good relations with local law enforcement organizations and participate in joint programs designated to reduce crime

· Help in the review of incident reports generated by the front line staff


· Hold a valid security license

· Five years security experience with escalation of duties including supervisory experience

· Employment with Paladin for over one year is an asset

· Computer literate and able to easily assimilate knowledge of site systems

· Proven organizational and management experience

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

· Strong knowledge of the security functions and requirements at the site

· Dependable and professional in all job functions

· Able to display objectivity and sound judgement

· Able to coach and mentor others by knowledge and experience

· Willingness to assist with a self-starter attitude

Education Requirements (Any)

High School Diploma/GED
Previous Security Experience
Minimum 5 years experience security or related field
