The Major Capital Projects ("MCP") Advisory group is a domain within the Advisory practice, which specializes in advising clients on realizing capital efficiencies and reducing capital costs and business risks surrounding their capital projects, with a focus on assessing contractual agreements and vendor performance on these capital projects. Typical clients for our MCP group include companies in the Utilities, Oil & Gas, Construction, and Mining industries. Our MCP group's service offerings include:
    • Vendor and contract audits
    • On-site contract management services
    • Project cost, schedule and risk management services
    • Supply chain management assessments
    • Project management process and control assessments
    • Assistance with claims and dispute resolutions through identification and reduction of cost overcharges

    • Demonstrate an understanding of contractual and construction concepts
    • Participate in contract compliance assessments, contract management activities, cost recovery / cost controls analysis, vendor assessments/audits, project management and project controls engagements
    • Demonstrate an understanding of supply chain/procurement principles
    • Demonstrate an understanding of project management processes and principles, including management of budget and schedule
    • Develop complex spreadsheets
    • Create work products such as detailed analyses and engagement reports
    • Supervise staff employees and review their work products
    • Stay informed of emerging technical issues and relevant business and economic developments
    • Maintain a strong client focus by effectively serving client needs
    • Work closely with supervisors to deliver high-quality client service
    • Demonstrate quality control, and commitment to schedule and budgets
    • Foster an efficient, innovative and team-oriented work environment
    • Commit to developing knowledge. Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery
    • Respect/protect client information

    • A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Construction Management, Supply Chain, Architecture, Engineering or a related field
    • A minimum of 2 years of related experience
    • Previous consulting, construction, supply chain or oil and gas experience is required
    • CPA/CA, CIA, CISA, CFE, CMA, RICS APC, PMP, P.Eng, or CCIM certification desired; non-certified hires are required to become certified to be eligible for promotion to Manager
    • Strong research, analytical, and business writing skills
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook
    • Strong proficiency with data mining softwares (e.g. ACL, Alteryx, etc.) is a plus
    • Demonstrated project management, teaming, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Demonstrated integrity, values, principles, and work ethic
    • Willing and able to learn and work independently with minimal supervision
    • Successful candidates must be available to travel as needed within and outside of Canada and work in excess of standard hours when necessary
    • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
    • Integrity within a professional environment
