Student Assistant - Software and Hardware Assistance

Reports to: Manager User Support Services

Summary: The student will assist faculty and staff in the basic operation of software and hardware in faculty and staff offices.

Principal Duties:

Assist faculty and staff in the basic operation of software applications.
Assist faculty and staff in the basic operation of Kwantlen Systems like email, on line course tools etc.
Assist faculty and staff in the basic operation of new peripherals like digital cameras and scanners.

Requirements:

Successful completion of introductory computing courses.
General understanding of PC hardware and software.
Good interpersonal skills.
Good command of written and spoken English

Salary Information

Student Assistants are paid as per the following:

Less than one year of post-secondary (less than 30 credits) - BC Minimum Wage

One year of post-secondary (30-60 credits) - BC Minimum Wage plus 8%

With a post-secondary diploma or degree - BC Minimum Wage plus 21%
