A day in the life:WSP is hiring for multiple positions to cover the below tasks/disciplines:
- Systems Engineering
- Support Rail & Transit team to create Systems Integration Plans, Systems Engineering Management Plans, Systems Integration Matrix, and Interface Control Documents (ICD's);
- Perform functional analysis, create Systems Breakdown Structure, functional block diagrams, Systems Architecture and sequence diagrams;
- Facilitate and meetings with designers and clients to discuss and manage system interfaces for complex Rail & Transit projects; and
- Define and manage technical requirements.
- Communications Engineering
- Under the guidance of a Senior Communications engineer, implement communication designs for LRT projects. Designs may include: radio/push-to-talk, fibre, network architecture, and SCADA;
- Participate in validation & verification activities and produce test procedures and contribute to any troubleshooting;
- Develop Bill of Materials and Bill of Quantity reports;
- Produce design reports, drawings, and system specifications; and
- Perform all other assigned or required duties.
- Signals Engineering
- Under the guidance of a Senior Signals engineer, implement signals design for wayside devices, train control systems, and the underlying application logic
- Participate in validation & verification activities and produce test procedures and contribute to any troubleshooting;
- Develop Bill of Materials and Bill of Quantity reports;
- Produce design reports, drawings, and system specifications; and
- Perform all other assigned or required duties
What you'll bring to WSP...CORE QUALIFICATIONS - Registered in a Canadian University for Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer engineering;
- Willingness to learn;
- Self-starter with a flexible approach to problem solving;
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS - Proven ability to work successfully in multi-disciplinary teams;
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - The following experience would be considered an asset:
- Certificates or additional training in design tools (CAD, Revit, Bentley Products)
- Basic knowledge of Train Signaling principles, SCADA, Communications, Systems Assurance (RAM), Safety Assurance, Vehicle and Wayside Interfaces, Traction Power, Power Supply and Distribution, Mechanical, System and Train Simulation, Tunnels, or Fire Life Safety Systems will be an asset;
- Strong communication skills, presentation skills, and report writing skills;
- Experience in a Consulting Engineering environment is an asset.
