Position Overview:Reporting to the Technology Solutions Implementation Director, the Technology Solutions Project Manager will manage all Technology Technology Solutions short and long-term projects. You will work collaboratively with diverse project teams to ensure proper coordination and communication and achieve on-time and on-budget delivery. You will play a key role in following project management procedures and meet the expectations for the project deliverables by offering customer service excellence. The ideal candidate brings strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop solid relationships with both internal and external customers. You bring a knowledge of business principles and known to manage through an extremely fast paced environment. You are known to influence without authority and extremely strong at project management.

This position is a 5x2 shift and can be based in either Calgary or Edmonton with travel required.

Job Description:
  • Manage orders from the receipt of PO (initiation) to the end of commissioning (closing).
  • Be the single point of contact for the customers, stakeholders including internal teams and suppliers.
  • Planning of the project including project schedule and continually update.
  • Coordinate all project activities to ensure order delivery on time.
  • Execute activities required to fulfil the project needs including managing scope and scope changes
  • Manage project budget by monitoring costs, controlling scope creep, mitigate risk
  • Accurately forecast project revenue
  • Manage and maintain gross profit levels estimated for the project.
  • Initiate procurement and manage suppliers
  • Coordinate commissioning for the equipment with internal service team
  • Manage / Coordinate documentation including submittal/approval process
  • Invoicing and logistics coordination
  • Communicate with all stakeholders regularly, issues resolution, progress updates/reports, and Lesson learned meetings
  • Project quality management
  • Project closeout

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field which may include a Technical diploma or degree or trade certification as Electrician, Industrial Mechanical or HD Mechanic.
  • Minimum 5+ years of Project Management experience preferably in a Mining, Technology or Telecommunications related industry
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent required.
  • Training in change management considered an asset.
  • Significant business experience with increasing responsibilities
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects using proven project management principles and methodologies
  • Good understanding of managing sub-contractors and project workflow.
  • Ability to work within team, and coordinate activities to have timely execution of project.
  • Good commercial aptitude to manage project financials to be within budget.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and Visio. SIS and Caterpillar Corporate Web Navigation
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills to engage, motive and lead employees
  • Experience with Caterpillar MineStar Technology and GPS/GNSS Networking is an asset
  • Knowledge of Mining Dispatch Systems: MineStar, Modular, Wenco, Jigsaw is an asset
  • Experience with asset management technology solutions would be an asset
