Position Overview:This position is responsible for coordinating all processes essential to manage and maintain the used equipment inventory, including procurement, order fulfillment, and inventory management, as well as managing the consignment process, for an assigned regional territory.

Job Description:

  • Fulfill used equipment sale and consignment orders and manage order from receipt of approved sale through to invoicing. This includes coordinating logistics of transporting equipment from source to buyer, and liaising with providers on all aspects of sale conditions (e.g. shop preparation, attachments, warranties and freight)
  • Facilitate equipment procurement. This includes facilitating purchasing equipment, rental roll-outs, trade-ins, coordinating the scheduling, logistical requirements, preparation, cost controls and communication of used equipment inventory sales and consignments, and preparing and distributing sales and consignment related documentation
  • Manage and maintain used equipment marketing initiatives in utilized database and on Finning's and Caterpillar's used equipment websites ( and, and responsible for equipment file and record management
  • Maintain process controls of all customer consignments

  • Proficient in MS Office Applications, especially Excel, working knowledge of an enterprise resourcing system (ERP), preferably Lawson, and sales support system, preferably Lawson's M3 Sales Automation application, and knowledgeable of database management
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment and the related industry, and familiar with both Caterpillar and competitive product lines
  • Familiar with sales and Supply Chain procedures and processes
  • Understands and adheres to Finning policies and procedures, including Safety

  • Experience in a related field
  • Prior experience in a Supply Chain and/or Sales position

  • Timely and efficient fulfillment of sale and consignment orders ensuring that equipment is delivered to buyer within agreed upon delivery date
  • Effective and professional coordination of used equipment sales and consignments and accurate and timely distribution of related documentation prior to sale and consignment
  • Register consignments accurately and in a timely manner and maintain process controls while ensuring velocity and value to customers, and that Finning's risk is controlled and managed appropriately
  • Ensure that equipment is represented accurately and is current in the utilized database and on Finning's and Caterpillar's used equipment websites ( and
  • Assist and support Used Equipment operations and International sales with ad hoc projects or initiatives, in a timely and professional manner
  • Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner and maintain effective relationships with all customers, internal and external relationships, while maintaining confidentiality
