Position Overview: Reporting to the Industry Manager - Power Systems, the used equipment manager is responsible for managing the used equipment business, including budget, profitability, buying/selling equipment, inventory management, and overall customer experience.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:
  • Manage used equipment acquisitions and marketing strategies with the intent of maximizing Finning (Canada)'s assets and turns
  • Manage used sales process, working together with Sales staff and Branches to provide best solutions to our customers
  • Engage with other Finning (Canada) internal support groups, to provide best solutions to our Sales force and customers
  • Direct used sales outside of Finning (Canada) territory, including globally
  • Develop a consistent, effective and responsive service standard for the equipment
  • Budget and review reconditioning costs related to used equipment to ensure repair costs align with marketing objectives
  • Manage office functions as required
  • Adhere to all Finning (Canada) Safety, Ethics and Compliance standards
  • Other related functions as required by the Used Equipment Operations Manager
  • Achieve targets for used revenue, used turns, margins and inventory levels
  • Maintain relations, network with customers, employees and Caterpillar
  • Support safety initiatives through supervision and by example
  • Maintain focus on industry momentums, recognizing risks and opportunities as markets change
  • Represent the Company in a professional and ethical manner
  • Responsible for the effective human resources management of staff and to foster an effective work environment which successfully contributes to employee engagement and the achievement of the business goals and objectives for Finning (Canada) and the work unit

  • Understand all aspects of the sales process
  • Follow processes and systems
  • Mechanical and sales experience
  • Equipment prep and presentation
  • Understands and adheres to Finning policies and procedures, including safety
  • Finning systems and MS Office


Education & Experience:
  • 5+ years of power systems used sales experience
  • Experience with Lawson, Rental man, and CAT product lines would be considered assets


Note:
  • This position can reside in either Edmonton, AB or Vancouver, BC
