A career in Deals Valuation, will provide you with the opportunity to help organisations unlock greater value from existing assets and ongoing capital expenditures as well as new acquisitions, investments, and complex corporate arrangements. We focus on a series of services, such as acquisition and disposal valuation advice including deal pricing and negotiation support, strategic value consulting for improvement of corporate and capital management decisions, financial modelling and value analysis. In short, upon being a member of our team, you will support clients to make profound strategic decisions, better conduct business transactions and decisions, appropriately allocate capital investment, and satisfy regulatory requirements with professional skills and in-depth industry knowledge.
Business ValuationValuations are performed for a variety of purposes, including transaction pricing, regulatory and financial reporting, income tax or estate planning and strategic decision-making. Some of our key valuation services include business valuations, intellectual property valuations, fairness opinions, financial modelling and purchase price allocations. Our clients come to us to help them understand the value of their business and its components.
As part of the Deals group, you will work with colleagues across all lines of services to deliver valuations alongside other services provided by PwC.
Purpose-led work you'll be part ofAs a Valuations and Disputes Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Understand the business/assets being valued, its historical and projected performance as well as key strengths and challenges • Conduct financial research into industry and general economic conditions, oil and gas benchmarks, discount rates/cost of capital, valuation multiples for relevant public companies and precedent transactions • Engage clients in discussions around their business, including operations and financial items to further our valuation analysis • Prepare capitalized earrings, cash flow and valuation models to arrive at estimates of value • Assist in report preparation, including reports used as expert evidence in dispute matters • Perform audit support work including the review of purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment assessments and private equity portfolio company valuations
Experiences and skills you'll use to solve• A strong financial background, superior verbal and written communication skills, an investigative mindset with attention to detail with an ability to see the big picture, strong technical/analytical and project management skills, an ability to analyze business situations and a professional and personable demeanour to interact with clients and work effectively in teams • Experience in a professional services firm is preferred • Experience with energy industry clients would be an advantage • An accounting designation is required, and progress towards completion of the Chartered Business Valuator designation would be an asset • Experience with Alteryx, Tableau and Microsoft Power BI would be an advantage • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives
