The Trade Finance product team is a key contributor within Treasury & Payment Solutions (T&PS). We are experienced trade finance professionals that help our clients navigate global trade corridors and improve working capital efficiency. We provide innovative products and solutions for activities related to commerce and international trade, which includes traditional trade products (such as Documentary Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit, Demand Guarantees and Documentary Collections) and Supply Chain Finance products.

We are looking for a Vice President, Product Management, Trade Finance
Our Vice President, Product Management, Trade Finance will research, define, align, develop, and implement sales and marketing strategies with P&L (profit and loss) accountability to enable the sales force to effectively sell, fulfill, and service new and existing individual or portfolio of banking products and improve the customer experience. Carries out market research, forecasting, pricing, and competitive analysis, monitors product and system performance, and assesses problems to develop and implement solutions. Manages product risks in compliance with legal, regulatory, and risk compliance, and reporting. Collaborates with internal partners across the enterprise to take products to market.
Product supports the global trade finance business for BMO. We serve most Capital Markets and P&C industry sectors. The role involves frequent interaction and extensive teamwork with BMO colleagues from various market segments and lines of business around the world including sales, relationship management, risk, credit, legal, compliance and operations. It also involves interaction with external business partners such as technology providers, consultants and other service providers, industry associations and government agencies.

The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards. - Reviews analysis of issues and identifies gaps and solutions.
- Provides competitive analysis and benchmarking to identify product strengths and gaps, and extract insights.
- Analyzes customer/consumer insights and channel data to identify strengths and gaps, and extract insights.
- Completes internal and regulatory reporting, and attestations.
- Identifies existing and potential risks and develops risk management controls and processes.
- Supports development of key metrics and identification of trends.
- Gathers customer and sales feedback and analyzes issues.

- Acts as the day to day contact for vendors; supports the implementation, maintenance, and sustainment of vendor solutions.
- Resolves internal, first level customer escalations.
- Leads/participates in the design, implementation, and management of core business / group processes.
- Runs analyses and reports that support risk management and policy development.
- Defines and implements business cases and strategic roadmaps for banking products and services, including project and budget approvals.
- Designs, implements, manages, and enhances a single product or suite of products throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develops, implements, and monitors key metrics and action plans to optimize financial performance
- Continuously improves processes to identify issues and deliver optimal customer experience.
- Works with partners to develop salesforce training and materials and manages change.
- May support the sales team in development of client deals and related presentations.
- Develops and maintains relationships with external partners and vendors.
- Develops, implements, and manages product documentation, templates, and requirements to ensure they accurately reflect product and systems functionality.

Knowledge and aptitude required for successful job performance:
- Strong knowledge of international financial transactions and trade practices
- Bachelor's degree or post graduate degree (preferred)
- 10+ years of business and/or Trade Finance experience
- Product Management expertise
- Subject specific knowledge - trade finance, supply chain finance, commodity trade finance
- Passion for emerging technology
- Process expertise - demonstrated ability to efficiently mobilize a variety of experts across a complex organization
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills. Must possess the ability to communicate in a professional and knowledgeable manner with senior levels within the Bank, LOB Relationship Management and, when required, externally with vendors and clients.
