As a Cloud Network Architect, you will bring deep Azure networking expertise and hands-on DevOps capabilities to design, standardize, automate, and operationalize cloud network foundations used across Canada and beyond.
Your work will directly impact the agility, security, and resilience of WSP's digital ecosystem.
Your Impact
- Define, document, and govern Azure networking reference architectures, standards, guardrails, and reusable patterns (segmentation, routing, DNS, private access, and network security).
- Provide architectural review and formal sign-off on Azure network designs, ensuring consistency, scalability, resiliency, and Zero-Trust-aligned security controls.
- Architect and maintain global connectivity patterns and cloud connectivity services supporting enterprise and hybrid needs.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for cloud network provisioning, championing reusable modules to deliver repeatable, self-service patterns.
- Integrate network builds into CI/CD workflows, enabling automated validation, drift detection, and consistent baselining.
- Implement hub-and-spoke / Virtual WAN patterns, private connectivity, Azure Firewall routing, and secure external endpoints such as Azure Front Door.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud and hybrid network issues across Azure regions.
- Build monitoring, telemetry, dashboards, and automated compliance controls for network services.
- Support incident response, runbooks, change/release coordination, and operational readiness.
- Mentor engineers, influence roadmaps, and drive adoption of reusable, scalable network platform services.
- 8-10+ years of hands-on network engineering and architecture experience.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure networking (segmentation, routing, DNS, private access, network security).
- Strong proficiency with BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, SD-WAN, VPN/IPSec, IPv4/IPv6, and enterprise-scale troubleshooting.
- Extensive experience with IaC and DevOps automation, including CI/CD workflows for infrastructure delivery.
- Prior participation in architecture review/governance forums and strong technical documentation skills (ADRs, architecture patterns, design docs).
- Ability to operate autonomously within globally distributed teams.
- Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and information-security-aligned delivery skills.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
