PwC Canada's Commercial Assurance team supports clients around the world to maximize the value obtained from third party relationships through an integrated, risk-based approach to contract compliance and supplier management. In today's interconnected world, organizations increasingly rely on third parties, here in Canada and further abroad, to support critical aspects of their business; placing contracts at the center of what can often be very strategic, complex, and risky relationships. However, getting value for money from these contracts, while ensuring effective performance and managing risk, is an ongoing challenge for most businesses.

Meaningful work you'll be part of

As a Commercial Assurance Se nior A ssociate you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Executi on of work that contributes to successful client engagements
• Focus on risk-based contract reviews and identification of cost recovery opportunities within the contracts
• Development of risk-based workplans to target identified risks
• Executi on of audit-based testing procedures to validate and verify contractor /supplier invoices and costs against contract terms, while managing workplan progression and leveraging data analytics where applicable
• Identification of gaps in contract management best practices within the client's own processes and work with the team to develop client-focused recommendati ons
• Prioritization of client and contractor/ supplier relationships, leading walkthroughs and status updates with both parties
• Validation of audit findings with the contractors/suppliers and development of audit reports, including presentations when necessary to the clients' st akeholder groups
• Focus on contract management and administration processes and identification of improvement areas
• Development of trusted relationships with existing and potential clients , as well as their contractors/suppliers
• Use of a broad range of analytics tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends

Experiences and skills you'll use to solve

• Previous experience with Risk & Controls as part of an Internal Audit team in a large professional services environment or within an internal consulting role or p revious experience with core assurance /financial statement audit within a professional services environment
• Experience with contract administration and/or Supply Chain management is an asset
• Ability to attentively read a variety of business policy and legal documents, with an eye for detail and ability to synthesize and conclude on key risks
• Familiarity with strategic/annual planning, stakeholder relationship management, audit planning and execution, and all other aspects of the internal audit life cycle
• Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of a value-focused internal audit program
• Proven ability to document processes and controls, develop and execute testing programs, assess control design and operating effectiveness, and to provide recommendations for improvements
• Confident with Data analytics tools e.g. excel advanced user, Alteryx , etc. and capable of working with large volumes of data, data visualization tools ( e.g. Tableau . Power BI, etc. )
• Exceptional relationship management, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
• Strong commitment to providing excellent client service, by building and maintaining productive relationships with both internal and external clients
• Highly capable to communicate concisely and effectively to a senior audience, both in writing and verbally
