The Opportunity
Build the Future with Us - This is your chance to join our growing Mine Waste team in Western Canada as a Mine Tailings Engineer based in Edmonton. In this role, you'll contribute your expertise to impactful mining and tailings projects that help shape safe, sustainable operations across the province.
You'll work closely with a collaborative group of specialists and technical professionals supporting engineering design, dam safety, field programs, and multi-disciplinary project delivery. Your work will drive our expanding Mine Waste practice in Alberta and strengthen our trusted relationships with clients in the mining sector.
Your Impact
• Support a wide range of tailings storage facilities and waste rock projects, including dam safety inspections, field investigations, construction support, and data interpretation.
• Conduct geotechnical analyses such as stability, seepage, thermal, consolidation, deformation, dam breach and runout modelling.
• Prepare clear, technically sound proposals, reports, recommendations, and design deliverables.
• Collaborate across mining, geotechnical, civil, environmental, and geological engineering teams.
• Deliver high-quality work on time and within budget under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Mentor junior engineers through thoughtful delegation, coaching, and oversight.
• Champion and actively participate in a safety-first culture.
The Skills That Set You Apart
• 1-5 years of relevant experience in consulting engineering or the mining industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering; postgraduate studies are an asset.
• Eligible for registration, or currently registered, with a Canadian engineering regulatory body.
• Strong technical judgment supported by knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering.
• Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Experience collaborating on interdisciplinary project teams and managing project tasks.
• Advanced MS Excel and/or VBA skills are an asset.
• Experience with tailings deposition software (e.g., Muk3D) is an advantage.
• French or Spanish language ability is considered an asset.
• Commitment to safe work practices for yourself and your team.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $73,400 - $97,200
MB & ON: $67,000 - $92,200
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $62,400 - $84,000
