The opportunity:

A unique opportunity to live and work in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, WSP is currently seeking a motivated Project Manager/Project Engineer to join our Canmore Land Development and Municipal Engineering team. Reporting to the Area Manager in Canmore, this position's responsibilities include working on a wide variety of projects in terms of type and scale including municipal water, wastewater, drainage, roadway infrastructure, and site servicing projects for public and private clients, including planning, design, and construction administration services. As a key member of the team, you will deal directly with clients and regulatory agencies.

A day in the life:

• Provide technical advisory services to clients for land development and municipal engineering projects;

• Prepare analyses, designs, drawings, specifications, cost estimates and reports;

• Contract administration and field reviews for projects under construction;

• Liase with a multi-disciplinary project team to undertake municipal engineering projects;

• Manage clients and projects, maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction by ensuring that project outputs meet client expectation at key project stages;

• Implement WSP project management methodology to ensure projects result in a successful conclusion for both the client and the company;

• Receive mentorship from Senior colleagues, and in turn provide mentorship to Junior staff members;

• Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring to WSP...

• An undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university (Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Engineering Design may be considered);

• 5+ years of progressive experience in the design of land development infrastructure projects is preferred;

• Registration in good standing as a P.Eng. in Alberta, or eligibility to be registered, or industry recognized equivalent;

• Experience as an engineering professional completing studies, design, tender document preparation and contract administration on projects in the Municipal/Infrastructure sector;

• Project Management experience on municipal and/or private sector projects;

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal;

• Capable of working independently, high attention to detail, and an ability to work well as a team player;

• Valid Driver's license;

• Experience working with the various southern Alberta municipalities and/or within a mountain setting is an asset;
