Ready to take your geochemistry expertise to the next level? As part of our Prairies and North Earth & Environment team, you'll collaborate with a close-knit group of specialists driving innovative projects that make a real impact on communities and ecosystems. This is your chance to lead transformative work in oil sands and mining environments while shaping sustainable solutions for the future.

Your Impact
  • Lead geochemistry projects with a focus on oil sands and mining environments, ensuring technical excellence and environmental stewardship.
  • Drive geochemical characterization studies, radiological assessments, and environmental investigations that inform major project decisions.
  • Integrate geochemical data into large-scale environmental assessments, water quality models, and acid-rock drainage/metal leaching management plans.
  • Develop conceptual models and interpret complex datasets to deliver actionable insights.
  • Mentor junior team members and champion a "Safety First" culture across all project phases.
  • Engage directly with clients, contributing to proposals and business development initiatives that expand WSP's impact.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Geochemistry, Geological Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of applied experience in geochemistry, ideally within oil sands or mining contexts.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard modeling tools such as PHREEQC, Geochemist's Workbench, and GoldSim.
  • Strong data management and interpretation skills, including experience with Excel, EQuIS, and Access.
  • Familiarity with hydrogeology and hydrology principles is an asset.
  • A passion for delivering work that matters-to clients, communities, and the environment.

Compensation

BC, AB, SK, NWT, YT & NT: $110,600 - $146,500
MB & ON: $100,900 - $139,000
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $99,900 - $132,700
