Job Description

What if you could redefine what's possible?

With us, you can. You want Purpose. Growth. Opportunity. People who get it.
We are the home of ambitious, passionate, and innovative world shapers.
With an unmatched breadth and depth of engineering, advisory and science-based expertise, our global minds unite to power local solutions.
We are pathfinders and impact makers.
We are Visioneers. We are WSP.

The Opportunity

Your Impact Starts Here.
Join our Prairies & North Earth & Environment team and help shape projects that safeguard communities, support resilient infrastructure, and expand what's possible in applied near-surface geophysics. In this role, you'll work hands-on across diverse terrains, on land, across water, and in boreholes, to generate the subsurface insights our clients rely on to plan, protect, and build for tomorrow.

Your Impact
  • Conduct geophysical field investigations using seismic refraction, MASW, ERI, GPR, magnetics, microgravity, and electromagnetic methods to support major environmental and engineering programs.
  • Deploy, operate, and maintain specialized geophysical equipment to acquire high-quality data in a variety of field conditions.
  • Apply data processing workflows to generate clear, accurate interpretations that inform design decisions and risk assessments.
  • Capture field data efficiently and reliably, ensuring strong data integrity for multidisciplinary teams across the region.
  • Uphold rigorous safety standards and contribute to a culture of care and responsibility on every project.
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and technical specialists to deliver solutions that strengthen infrastructure, protect resources, and support communities across the Prairies & North.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • A degree in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline with geophysics focus.
  • 0-3 years of hands-on experience applying near-surface geophysical methods in engineering or environmental contexts.
  • Practical experience with two or more methods-such as seismic refraction, MASW, ERI, GPR, borehole logging, or electromagnetics.
  • Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods, often in remote or challenging environments, with frequent travel (50-100%).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence working with electronics, field instruments, and digital data systems.
  • A mindset rooted in curiosity, problem-solving, and continuous improvement-you care about doing work that matters.

We exist to shape communities to advance humanity.
  • Proudly Canadian - A Top 100 Employer in Canada for 2026.
  • A global community of brilliant minds-your next idea, mentor, or opportunity is always within reach.
  • Limitless opportunities to shape your career-across regions and continents. Your growth powers ours.
  • Flexible work, real balance-we support your life on and off the job so you can be fully present in both.

Compensation
  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $56,500 - $75,900
  • MB & ON: $51,600 - $72,000
  • NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $51,100 - $68,800
