The Opportunity
Shape the World Around You - As a member of our Environmental Management team in Alberta, you'll help shape the future of air quality monitoring and environmental protection across the province. In this role, you'll apply your technical expertise to deliver impactful solutions that support healthier communities and ecosystems.
We're expanding our Environmental Management team and adding an Intermediate Air Quality Technician to help drive our bold plans forward. You'll work closely with a collaborative team of engineering specialists, professionals, and technical staff, supporting ambient air quality programs and mentoring junior technicians.
Your Impact
- Develop and manage ambient air quality sampling programs, including field monitoring, calibration, and equipment maintenance
- Conduct scientific and engineering calculations, data analysis, report writing, and regulatory consultation
- Lead and mentor junior and intermediate technicians, fostering growth and technical excellence
- Manage client relationships and ensure successful delivery of field programs across Alberta
- Plan and execute field investigations from setup to reporting, ensuring quality and compliance
- Train team members on instrumentation and monitoring techniques
- Apply innovative thinking to solve technical challenges and improve monitoring systems
The Skills That Set You Apart
- 5+ years of experience in air quality monitoring or environmental fieldwork, with increasing responsibility
- Post-secondary education in chemistry, civil technology, electronics, instrumentation, environmental or atmospheric sciences
- Hands-on experience with continuous emission monitoring and data acquisition systems
- Skilled in troubleshooting equipment and adapting to field conditions
- Comfortable working independently in field environments and managing multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and tech-savvy with data systems
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
