You are a Maintenance/Certified Millwright who knows the ins and outs of keeping a mill's machinery up and running. You have a natural ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues and you're looking to expand your knowledge with an amazing company where safety and sustainability are the most important priorities. This is your opportunity to use your Red Seal technical chops, communication, and troubleshooting skills to keep our modern sawmill running at peak performance. You will be working alongside the best and brightest in the business with an innovative leader in the forest products industry. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation & modification of all sawmill related equipment to safely maximize, uptime, quality and productivity as well as setting the planer, changing planer knives and saws, grinding flat and side head knives, and other duties as designed. This role is a fulltime schedule with a minimum of 40 hours per week.

This role is based out of our Fox Creek, AB manufacturing facility. We offer competitive relocation packages for successful candidates and their families to relocate to the area.

The life of the Maintenance/Certified Millwright includes:
  • You will work with a high-performance team dedicated to maintaining all mill machinery including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers and chains, bearings and pneumatic systems involved in the manufacturing process
  • You will keep our systems running smoothly by performing preventative and predictive maintenance. This includes inspecting machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
  • You manage your time effectively by assessing carefully and can distinguish when to assemble, move, replace, or dismantle machinery.
  • You will apply your knowledge, skills, and experience to troubleshoot issues, boost equipment reliability and implement safe, reliable fixes to keep the mill running
  • You have great attention to detail to identify and request relevant parts to complete repairs in a timely manner
  • You are accountable for assisting in a safe work environment for coworkers, customers and visitors on site

For this role, you'll come equipped with:
  • Red Seal Certification considered an asset but not required
  • Physical capability to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs
  • High degree of urgency
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers
  • Knowledge of the lumber or industrial manufacturing process is an asset as well as experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability
